Cervical cancer nurses present at international conference
Our programme supervisor, Dr. Usha Poli and our cervical cancer nurses, Rukhiya Begum and Narayanamma, each presented a poster at the IFCPC 17th World Congress for Cervical Pathology & Colposcopy.
Dr. Usha Poli presented on the role of technology in programme supervision in the absence of a clinician. Technology allows specialised support with queries, complicated cases and quality assurance.
Rukhiya Begum focused on her experience using a thermocoagulator and its benefits in rural areas. Narayanamma demonstrated the role of nurses with external supervision in cervical screening.
With support from our office staff and supervision from Dr. Usha Poli, our nurses were able to present their posters in English, online, in front of an international audience. The presentations were well received and we were delighted to showcase our cervical cancer screening programme at an international conference.
IRHS has screened more than 1,00,000 women and saved the lives of more than 3% of those screened in this high risk area
